Still looking for help : )
Pin It
WHENStarting now.
Going until indefinite amount of time
NOT
I am not looking for a photography assistant for a part time job.
I work with different assistants or shadows almost every photo-shoot.
On second thought: If it were to be part photography then I could turn it into an internship of sorts.
Perhaps with a lower pay rate.
WHY
Why I am looking for help?
I find that some days I spend so much time doing so many little things that It’s not until 3-6 hours later that I get started on things only I can do like editing my pictures.
I’m getting backed up on my editing and it’s only going to get worse with the amount of weddings and sessions I’ll be doing throughout the year.
Sometimes with everything that’s going on I can forget or put off certain things I need to be doing.
I could possibly do all this stuff but I figure a happier and less stressed Silvy means better pictures… and I want to make it through the year in one piece having given my best for each job.
Someone to keep me on track and to make this year a bit more enjoyable with the massive amounts of work that will be happening.
Duties
Some duties Include but are not limited to:
* Taking care of customers
* Taking care orders & phone-calls
* Other errands
* Scheduling & Planning
* Assisting in photo-shoots
* Keeping me on task
* Contact with clients (I’ll continue to do much of this because they usually want to chat with me)
Other Skills
Other skills that could be used.
Each skill will mean more work-time and more compensation (based on level of skill-set)
* Editing
* Data Entry
* Photo organizing, key-wording
* Photography assistant (lighting, posing groups, grunt work and even second camera etc)
* Anything else you feel you can offer
* Way excited if you also knew advertising, marketing etc
These are mainly jobs that could be to fill in time or if you want to work additional hours.
Required
* Live nearby: I won’t pay for time it takes to get to my location.
* Car: Running errands would be pretty hard without this
* Good people skills: You will be interacting with clients
* Writing skills: And I’m not just talking grammar, because it’s not the end of the world if you forget a period – But to represent well.
* Not be out of communication for too long. (i.e. gone out of the country for a few weeks and not be able to call etc)
* Interact well with me: It is a job as my assistant… that seems pretty sensible that we work well together.
Hours
Could be set up for anywhere from 10-30hrs a week.
It depends on what you have the ability to do.
Flexibility in time will be something I will look for.
I could have busy weeks.
But I will be able to set a minimum amount of hours.
Other Thoughts &/or Benefits
* Flexible schedule
* It’s kind of an on call-job (So some people might not like that)
* You’ll learn a lot about photography and the business of it all.
* It’s not too terribly difficult.
Pay
Heck I don’t know…
depends on what additional skill-set you bring to the table.
If not it will be a traditional “Secretary” wage i suppose
If my lack of ability to be very formal (and my laid back attitude) on things like this bugs you… then I wouldn’t apply :) haha
If you have a specific set of talents above and beyond let me know the rate you were hoping for… we’ll see what we can do
How to apply
Please send an email with your qualifications
Any additional skills you bring to the table
Your situation that you would want a job like this.

2010: Welcome!
Pin It
2010.It sounds so futuristic, doesn't it? It could be a movie title with flying cars and the world ending, it's that so crazy?!
Normally when the New Year starts, I feel generally the same as I did the day before, only more tired from the late night, but this year I feel completely different already.
Energized!
This is unusual for me. This past year, with all that has gone on with working on my businesses, and life in general, I've been run down and sleepy a lot of the time. But now I am absolutely refreshed and ready to go!! I have made a few resolutions:
1. Be a POSITIVE person! It is so so easy to slide into negativity. For me at least, I have to make a conscious choice to look on the bright side, and to reserve judgment. It's in my nature to be skeptical and play the devil's advocate, so this year, I am going to work on holding back critique of other and try to seek out the good in everyone and every situation.
2. Get FIT! Shocker, this is on my list every year, isn't it?!
3. Meet & exceed my BUSINESS goals: Some of these are financial, some are more intangible, but this year, my business is super important to me and I'm going to make some changes to ensure that my photography and my business itself are constantly growing and getting better!
4. Do a nice thing every day. It doesn't have to be a big thing, but this year I'd like to try do to something good for someone every day.
I have a feeling that 2010 is going to blow 2009 out of the water. I've decided to make that happen in my life!
What are your resolutions? What are you focusing on this year? I would like to add a #5 to my list if anyone has suggestions!!

Photographic Portraits is excited to introduce our Baby Registry.As a mother and a professional photographer of babies and children, I know that moms need only so many cute baby outfits and bottles as shower gifts. New parents certainly need those practical items, and they deluged with them at every baby shower. What all new parents truly want and need, they soon discover is to have a professional photographer beautifully document the precious first year of they're newborns life. When they say time passes in a blink of an eye it couldn't be more true of anything than the span of infancy; babies grow and change so quickly.
Registries have been around practically forever, but a photography registry is a relatively new idea. Mothers-to-be are thrilled with the prospect of receiving a gift that not only last a lifetime, but one that she'll treasure more than any other gift as a keepsake of her beloved baby.
With our registry the mother to be lists her wants and needs for photography and photography products. Such as, Baby's First Year Plan, Watch Me Grow albums, frame portrait art, jewelry and portrait packages. Now, not only can her friends and family shower her with such necessities as a car seat, diapers, bibs, and bassinets, but also, with photography that will last a lifetime.
That's a gift no mom would return.

so here I am... finally made my way to a computer. For all of you that already know what happened, Thanks for your kind words and prayers. For all the others, let me fill you in.Saturday morning my daughter and I where sitting at the breakfast table, trying to come up with something fun to do. This would have been my first Saturday off since we've opened shop in town. So... eating, drinking coffee, playing around... and before I even realized what was going on Sarah picked up this plastic shotgun loaded with a plastic bullet. Never thought it would have been laying around loaded I looked down the barrel making sure there was nothing wrong. But in that split second the little bullet hit me right in the right eye. Not sure if I lost it there for a minute but my husband heard me scream and came in. Found me on the floor and rushed me to the ER. After that we got send to Savannah in a hurry and since then I have been on bed rest. I can see now... not great but from Saturday morning seeing nothing at all till today it has been a great improvement. I have to go for check up's almost daily and I see more and more each day. It will take a while to be back where I left off but as for now I am really planning on shootin...sad word to say now : ( our fishin' event coming up on Saturday.
Man the only thing I can tell ya right now is.... I never valued seeing the world as I do today. God has giving me this awesome gift to see the world in a totally different way once I look through my camera. The thought off loosing all that in a split second is just horrible. I am so thankful for being able to see today.. maybe not as good at it was and maybe not as long as I wish I could have it but for everyday from here on out I will Thank God for this opportunity.
I sure will keep everyone that has scheduled appointment know how things are going. Sorry for all the inconvenience of rescheduling appointments and Thanks you so much for your understanding.

So I told yawl a couple of weeks ago about this new and awesome up and coming Church. Well, news get better every time I mention Turning Point Ministries.
Today I photographed Pastor Justin Mitchell & Worship Pastor Jordan Davis. They needed some much updated pics to get their advertisement going! Ain't it so awesome that these guys were up for something new and fresh?! I liked it!
So any ways.... God has so blessed Turning Point over the past few weeks. In almost every service they have filled the building almost to capacity, and they have needed more room for ministries such as KidPak Children's Church and children's nursery. The staff began seeking God through prayer about where He would have Turning Point go to accommodate the growth they have experienced in such a short amount of time.
Beginning Sunday, March 1 Turning Point Worship Center will begin meeting at the Altamaha Technical College Auditorium. This will give them a seating capacity of 300 people and much needed room for children's ministries. Praise God for providing Turning Point with a wonderful facility to meet at!
I would like to ask you to help spread the word about the great things that God is doing at Turning Point.
Hope to see you there Sunday : )

I wanted to tell all of my faithful blog stalkers : ) about this new church! If you love to worship and love to praise God you HAVE to come check it out.... here's some more info!!
Turning Point Worship Center is an independent, dynamic and vibrant church making an impact both in people's lives and their communities. We are dedicated to delivering timeless truths based on God's Word, while ushering people into His presence through inspired praise and worship. At Turning Point, we seek to unify the body of Christ by embracing diversity.
While our worship services offer a vital opportunity to experience His presence and truth, we are committed to developing smaller relational environments that give you the opportunity to connect with other believers, discover your gifts and God's destiny for your life, and grow in Him.
Turning Point Worship Center is a nondenominational church that offers a Sunday morning service at 10:30 AM. You can expect passionate worship lead by Music Pastor Jordan Davis, explosive preaching by Pastor Justin Mitchell, and life-changing altar calls. Turning Point does not hold Sunday night services as we encourage everyone to spend time with family and friends.
